Our professor surprised us today with a 15-minute group project! We had to make a presentation about Pictory, an AI tool, and the kicker was that we had to utilize Notion to collaborate and develop it while working remotely. Let me tell you, things got interesting quickly. Our objective was simple: examine Pictory’s many price plans and capabilities, then create a cohesive presentation in 15 minutes. Sounds simple, right? With five team members () dispersed across different places, the clock ticking, and a platform we were all unfamiliar with, the pressure was on!

Notion is a multifunctional workspace that includes capabilities for note-taking, project management, and collaboration. We discovered Notion to be surprisingly simple for real-time collaboration. We were able to swiftly assign duties (), with some of us focusing on explaining Pictory’s price structure () and others delving into its features. Given our restricted time, Notion’s shared workspace enabled us to view each other’s progress, add comments, and change content all at the same time. We were all able to rapidly understand the fundamentals of Notion, such as creating pages, inserting text, and formatting. However, several of the more advanced functions, such as media embedding and database creation, are still a mystery to us. To keep things flowing, we decided to stay with the basic functionalities.

Due to time constraints, we were unable to fully investigate Notion’s possibilities for visual content production. Ideally, we would have used Notion’s tools to create a more visually appealing presentation, such as incorporating photographs or constructing a more structured layout with tables or galleries.
Working remotely using Notion posed some complications. While the software enabled real-time editing, the lack of in-person interaction made it difficult to brainstorm ideas and ensure everyone was on the same page. Quick video calls or a separate chat platform running alongside Notion could have helped bridge the divide.

Notion proved to be a useful tool for our quick 15-minute assignment. Its collaborative capabilities enabled us to work quickly, even afar, and its simplicity allowed us to focus on the content rather than the platform. Though we barely scraped the surface of its capabilities, Notion made a good impact, and I can see it becoming a go-to tool for future collaborative projects.
